Sometimes, there is no telling

Filed under Uncategorized by damon kiesow at 9:48 am

Despite our best attempts to figure out what our audience wants to read each day, we are sometimes the last to know.

In last Sunday’s Telegraph, we had, among other stories, a frontpage piece on an increase in drug overdose deaths in the state, and acenterpiece on The Birth Cottage in Milford, featuring coverage of anactual birth.

Both were well read online, but it was a smallarticle with photo on page F-8 that is the most well read story of theweek on our Web site:

Melissa Jellerson / Tinker Toy

Mostof the traffic to this story (6,000 page views as of 11 am)came to us early Wednesday from CollegeHumor.com. The content of the site isself-explanatory, so caveat emptor if you visit there.

The creators of the site, obviously tongue-in-cheek, linked to us with theheading: "Worst Name Ever" thereby driving legions of their readers toread 40 words about a perfectly nice couple from Hollis, NH, whoprobably never guessed their engagement notice would create a definitely Internet 15 minutes of fame.
