If you are a member of Facebook - the Telegraph is testing a new breaking news alert on that social networking site.

To participate - just make the telegraph (NashuaTelegraph) a friend - and make sure you can see our Status updates on your own home page.

Whenever we post a story to our breaking news blog - our Facebook status will automatically update with the headline and link. Unfortunately links are not 'hyperlinked' in the FB status field - but usuallythe headline tells most of the story.
