Gannett is working on that innovation thing in Ft Meyers - experiementing with 'mojos' mobile journalists, who are basically nomad-reporters, working out of their car covering the local community.

Leonard Witt at PJNet Today has some great commentary on this development which really sums it up nicely:

He runs from story to story like a Domino's Pizza delivery guy. Getting him out of the newsroom is smartening up, having him spend his time on stories that could, for the most part, be written off of press releases is dumbing down.
