Due to some technical glitches, some people may have missed it yesterday but we launched a new feature on the Web site - an embedded MP3 player.

In the near future you will be seeing more of these audio players embedded into Telegraph stories on the Web - playing inteviews with local newsmakers, songs from local bands, or as with yesterday’s offering, statements from court hearings.

As with any ‘new’ technology, we are still working through a few hurdles getting the Flash-based player to appear correctly across different computers and browsers.

The player you see below (for the tech geeks out there) is displayed using the SWFObject method
