Well, finally the AP video on the front page and in Encore are now being served as Flash video! And not a moment too soon, the Telegraph will begin publishing our own video content as Flash next week.

The AP video is still in Beta, but it has been tested for several weeks at some other papers, and seems to be pretty solid. Our own migration to Flash is a coincidence of timing, but with the same intent.

Nothing against Windows Media, but Flash is more compatible across platforms - and creates smaller files, and therefore better performance.

Our first Flash video story will be running Sunday, and as another test, it will be embedded directly into the article page, as opposed to being in a pop-up window. Hopefully these changes will make it a bit easier for people to watch the segments.
