Thanksgiving sort of snuck up on me, and now I find myself brooding over whether I am doing enough with my life - egged on, perhaps, by my father, who reminded me last night that I’m "almost middle age." Uh, thanks, dad.

Clearly, the answer is "Not nearly enough."

So, I was relieved to find Freerice.com, where I can not only test my skills as a wordsmith, but simultaneously contribute to starving folks. You can’t really go wrong, although it is a bit addictive. Still, when you’re frittering away your afternoon for a good cause, well, that’s a whole lot better than frittering it away watching "America’s Next Top Model" reruns.

Ahem.

Not that anyone who blogs here does that.
