Can Walker, Texas Ranger make all my decisions for me? Please?

Politics has never been my cup of tea. Because I’m an American and I have a responsibility to my country, I do my research and vote my conscience, but I can’t help but roll my eyes at the campaign process, especially the whole concept of candidate endorsements. It just smacks of high school student council election tactics - "Angelina Jolie supports me, so if you’re cool like her, you’ll support me too!"
At least, that was my perspective until Tuesday evening, when Chuck Norris endorsed Mike Huckabee for president. As a martial arts movie fan, Chuck Norris’ political opinions carry a lot of weight with me. I can’t believe I just typed that. It sounds ridiculous, but it’s true.
I’ll give you a little background on where I stand politically so you can understand where I’m coming from. I’m a fairly conservative Republican and the most important issues to me are those dealing with marriage, the family, and abortion. The environment and the war in Iraq are also up there on my list.
My ideal candidate would have strong Christian values but be able to work effectively across party lines and any other political divisions to do what’s best for our nation, so it’s not like I was a staunch Hillary supporter who’s now doing a complete 180 because Chuck Norris told me to. I’ve been trying to narrow it down between all the Republican candidates and his endorsement encourages me to give Huckabee a closer look.
I mean, dude, it’s Chuck Norris. He’s the good guy you always want on your side because he has the strength and the skills to turn the bad guys into mincemeat but a heart that seeks to end the conflict without violence. And if the bad guys refuse a peaceable solution, he has the guts to take them out, even if he has to kick in a few car windshields to do it.
I could be accused of mistaking the man for his characters, but if you check out his biography on imdb.com, they sure have a lot in common. And "Sidekicks", where he pretty much plays himself, has forever endeared him to my heart - he has so much compassion and patience with Jonathan Brandis’ character.
Personally, I think that whoever wins the presidential election should put Chuck Norris in charge of the military. How’s that for a quick and effective way to stabilize Iraq and bring our troops home?
Because Chuck Norris can do stuff like this:
Not a bad political resume, huh?
So how about you guys? What celebrity’s endorsement would make you take a second look at a presidential candidate?
