The votes are in and the winner is…

Springfield, Vermont!

Vermont beat out 14 other states with cities bearing the hometown name of America's most-beloved sitcom family. Each city made a 5 minute video stating why they should be chosen to host the premiere of The Simpson's Movie.

Vermont's premiere will take place July 21, 6 days before the national opening of the movie. It's only a two-hour drive…maybe an assignment for an intern?

It totally should have been Springfield, Mass. Everyone knows that!

Also, I think the angle of your assignment should be to go as Homer and eat as many doughnuts as you can.

I thought the Illinois Springfield had the best video. If that was the basis, they got gypped. But I do think it was kinda cool that Vermont has the power plant.

Did you see this article from Guardian Unlimited on how the Simpsons hasn't been all that good in the last 10 years? At first, part of me wanted to shout, "Blasphemy!" But, it makes some interesting points.
