Ted Kennedy reaches out to Simpsons

Maybe the senior senator from the Bay State wants to meet the voice behind Mayor Joe Quimby - a voice that sounds much like his.
Edward Kennedy has thrown his weight behind an effort to have the world premiere of "The Simpsons Movie" screened in Springfield, Mass., next month.
In a video, Kennedy invites "Homer, Marge, Bart, old 'Diamond' Joe Quimby, Grampa, Lisa, and Abe — to join us."
The city will use the 5-minute video that also features several hundred residents to compete with the 13 other Springfields in the U.S. for the right to celebrate America's favorite four-fingered people.
The Quimby character is a crass mayor who speaks with the same Brahmin accent as Kennedy's.
