Knork it off, wouldja?

I could never get behind the spork as a utensil.
The bowl of the spoon part is too short for any decent consumption of liquid, and the tines of the fork part aren't deep enough to do any real lifting.
BUT the knork is an invention I can totally get behind.
My mom used to bug me about the way I sawed through waffles or pancakes with the side of my fork instead of using the knife at my place setting. But, since my sisters and I were the family dishwashers until we left the nest, it made sense. Fewer dishes used meant less time over the hot soapy water.
And I would never have known about it if it were not for the eagle eye of our Lifestyles editor, Deidre Ashe.
