OK, I admit it. I am a total Lord of the Rings freak — just for the movies, though. I get fed up with all the drinking, eating and dancing the hobbits do in the books, and yes, I know that’s sacrilege to true fans.

But the movies are a different story. I was hooked from the first and eagerly anticipated not just the new releases in the theaters, but the souped-up DVD extras with extended scenes and super-duper tricksy little hobbitses goodies.

Which is why I am taking this news rather hard.
