Yankee Doodle Dialect

Somewhere in the state of Pennsylvania is an invisible line. On the eastern side, cola is referred to as a soda. On the western side, it’s pop.
(Actually, here’s a map that explains all the regional terms for soda. And it’s color-coded. Yippee!)
Up here in New England, I often get accused of not speaking the local lingo correctly. My first summer here when I ordered an ice cream cone at a local stand, I was asked, "Would you like jimmies?"
"No, thank you," I answered. "I don’t know who Jimmy is. May I have my own cone, please?"
So, when I stumbled across a quiz to tell me about my English-speaking habits. I could not resist. Here’s my linguistic makeup:
Your Linguistic Profile:
40% General American English
35% Yankee
15% Dixie
5% Upper Midwestern
0% Midwestern
I have no explanation for the Dixie percentage.
