Had I ever started the gym, this would make me quit

After buying a Wii for my oldest younger brother last year for Christmas and discovering how much fun it was, my parents decided to buy one this year for the whole family. As a bonus, they picked up DDR Hottest Party and a DDR pad for yours truly. I was completely surprised, having long since forgotten our last visit to Gamestop, which I spent gazing at the different DDR games with dorky longing and wishing we had a console that would play them.

DDR (short for Dance Dance Revolution) is quite possibly the most addicting game ever. It also gave me my second most favoritest Christmas present - a weight loss of almost three pounds during Christmas week. DDR is so much more fun than the treadmill.

Ever stumble across a song that would be perfect in a video game? Joy Electric needs to make video game soundtracks. Please? Click on the second track on their MySpace page (Like Fools) and listen for the spooky synth hook. Tell me you can't hear that playing in the background of an early '90s Nintendo game where your intrepid 8-bit self has to dodge ghouly ghosties and ghosty ghoulies and retrieve the cursed candelabra (which looks an awful lot like a deformed pencil) to rescue the princess, who is being held against her will by the evil demon king.

Doo doo-doo doo. Hurry! Your HP is dropping! Don't let the evil demon king win!

This weekend, we finally managed to obtain the Wii we promised my college-age brother for Christmas. He came home to pick it up and graciously agreed to let the whole family try it out. I don't know which I'm more sore from - "tennis" or physically restraining my overly enthusiastic youngest brother so he didn't get clocked while my younger sister "golfed."
