Spousal abuse or abuse of technology?Teresa | 02 July, 2008 10:40 | (208)
Well, here's one way to make sure everyone hears about the issues you have with your spouse: record your rants and put them up on YouTube. Broadway producer Philip Smith is suing his estranged wife Tricia Walsh Smith for divorce after the video clips she posted on YouTube in which she expounds at length on their failed marriage got over 4 million views. Smith claims this constitutes spousal abuse. In the event the 76 year-old producer decides to marry again after this fiasco, he may want to choose a wife closer to his own age - there's a 27 year age difference between him and Walsh Smith. If he marries someone upwards of age 70, chances are they won't know how to use YouTube and he can avoid being embarrassed if things don't work out again. Mariah Carey: Take Me Out of the BallgameKaren | 29 May, 2008 12:55 | (368)
Mariah Carey was asked to throw out the first pitch at a Japanese baseball game this week. Note to MC: stick to singing high notes, because this was a low one. (Read More...)If rehab's not working, try TV-HabKaren | 06 May, 2008 12:54 | (466)
I’ve noticed a trend that seems to gaining steam: fallen starlets making good on the silver screen. Let’s call it "television rehab", or, “TV-Hab.” (Read More...)
And now Heath Ledger's gone, tooTeresa | 23 January, 2008 10:21 | (174)
This was completely unexpected. I'm still grieving Brad Renfro - I haven't the strength to grieve Heath Ledger as well. So instead of waxing elegiac once again, I will instead connect you with TMZ's Heath Ledger section, which is updated whenever they get the tiniest new detail. Right now, it appears the most dangerous thing a young male Hollywood actor can do is to stay home alone. Will someone please make sure Max Elliott Slade has regular evening plans until all of this blows over? If he goes too, I'm going to need therapy. Brad Renfro died?Teresa | 16 January, 2008 09:16 | (159)
No. I refuse to accept this. I refuse to accept that the celebrities I idolized in junior high school are old enough to fatally self-destruct.

Those of you who are avid readers of The Week in Preview may have noticed that this week's column was a bit shorter than usual. (I wish I could make some sort of crack here about my mom being the only one who reads it, but even she doesn't read it every week). Due to the need to include information on local polling places, an item was cut. This item, sadly, was a very special poem by TWiP's poet laureate, Stephen Scaer, written especially for the grand occasion that is the New Hampshire Primary. Even though it didn't make it into the paper, I wanted to share it online, because some poetry is just too good to go unread. (Read More...)Can Walker, Texas Ranger make all my decisions for me? Politics has never been my cup of tea. Because I'm an American and I have a responsibility to my country, I do my research and vote my conscience, but I can't help but roll my eyes at the campaign process, especially the whole concept of candidate endorsements. It just smacks of high school student council election tactics - "Angelina Jolie supports me, so if you're cool like her, you'll support me too!" At least, that was my perspective until Tuesday evening, when Chuck Norris endorsed Mike Huckabee for president. As a martial arts movie fan, Chuck Norris' political opinions carry a lot of weight with me. I can't believe I just typed that. It sounds ridiculous, but it's true.
