A Few Changes Coming Sunday

Nick | 13 April, 2007 16:26 | (394)

If your Sunday newspaper looks a bit different this week, relax: you're not imagining things. Virtually all the news and features you're used to seeing in The Sunday Telegraph are pretty much there; some of them are just in a different place.

Among the changes you can expect to see:

  • The Perspectives section, which had been a stand-alone section in the past, is being folded into the Nashua & Region section. Statehouse reporter Kevin Landrigan's weekly political column is moving to B-1, while the Telegraph editorial, opinion columns and letters are moving to B-2 and B-3. As a result, the Travel section, which had been behind Perspectives, will move to the front of that section.
  • Rita Delude's "Along the Merrimack" column, which had been running on either B-2 or B-3, is moving to Tuesday -- its original home -- to make room for one of the editorial pages.
  • Kathleen Gilday's "Hometown Happenings" column -- which contained news from Derry, Londonderry, Pelham and Windham -- is being discontinued to make space for the other editorial page. News from those communities will appear on Mondays in the Neighbors section.
  • Tech Stop will now be found behind the Travel section.

A summary of the changes will appear on the front of the paper, and the full index of all sections will remain anchored on Page A-3.

Why the changes?

Primarily to reduce the size of the Sunday paper by four pages each week in an effort to keep down costs. We believe we've been able to achieve that without compromising local content, which as you know is always our priority.

Obviously, we hope you agree. Either way, though, please feel free to let me know what you think once you've had an opportunity to check out the Sunday paper.

Share and enjoy.
