Newspaper of the Year (Again)

Nick | 27 March, 2007 21:58 | (621)

If you think you've already read this posting before, keep reading -- it just seems that way.

After being named Newspaper of the Year last month by the New England Press Association, another New England news organization has bestowed a similar honor to The Sunday Telegraph.

On March 16, the New England Newspaper Association named The Sunday Telegraph a Newspaper of the Year in its circulation class. This represents the third year in a row the Sunday paper has received this award in the under-40,000 circulation category.

The daily Telegraph, which earned a similar award last year, was named a "distinguished newspaper," one of the two runner-up awards to the MetroWest Daily News of Framingham, Mass., in the 22,501 to 35,000 circulation category.

The Telegraph also was recognized with a special design award -- the only one given among all circulation classes -- for its Page 1 design of an issue observing the five-year anniversary of 9/11. The award-winning page of Sept. 10, 2006, was designed by Sunday Editor Marty Karlon.
