Sweet deals and instant savings beckon

There’s less than a week until Halloween, and one supermarket and one drugstore have good prices this week on popular candy brands. Plus, a special offer at the Milford Stop & Shop beckons savvy shoppers to stop and save.

From Friday-Thursday (Oct. 23-29), the Milford Stop & Shop has 48-ounce containers of Turkey Hill ice cream for $1.99 (limit 3), store brand bacon in 12- to 16-ounce packages for $1.77, store brand large brown eggs for $1, 6-ounce containers of Dannon yogurt for 40 cents plus Nestle fun size candy in 10- to 12.5-ounce bags for $2. In addition, the store is offering $5 instantly off your order when you spend $20 on a variety of products, including Newman’s Own line, Barilla pasta, Sorrento cheese, College Inn broth, Minute Rice and Apple and Eve 100% apple and cranberry juices.

From Sunday-Tuesday (Oct. 25-27), CVS has 9.34- to 22-ounce bags of Hershey’s, Mars or Nestle candy for $2 (through Sunday, Oct. 31, the price rises to $2.50) and also through Sunday, you’ll get $5 back in Extra Bucks if you spend $15 on various Duracell battery products. There are also good deals on Gillette Fusion, Venus, Embrace and Spa Breeze razors for $4.99 after $5 back in Extra Bucks, and you’ll get $10 back in Extra Bucks, if you spend $20 on various allergy and cold remedies, including Benadryl, Zyrtec, Claritin, Sudafed and Chloraseptic.

From Sunday-Saturday (Oct. 25-31), Market Basket has gallons of fresh cider for $2.99, Progresso vegetable soups for $1, 1-pound packages of Prince pasta for 75 cents, 32-ounce containers of Sorrento ricotta cheese for $2.50, yams for 49 cents a pound, 45-ounce jars of Prego pasta sauce for $2.50, 10-count Swiss Miss cocoa mix for 99 cents, 3-pound bags of Cortland, McIntosh or Empire apples for $1.99, plus a variety of store brand health and beauty products at good prices, including 500-count aspirin or 100-count ibuprofen for $1.99,14.2-ounce container of anti-dandruff shampoo for $1.50 and 36-count nasal decongestant PE for 99 cents.

From Friday-Thursday (Oct. 23-29), all area Shaw’s have boneless, skinless chicken breast in 3 pound or larger packages for $1.88 a pound, green or white asparagus for $1.88 a pound, various Post cereals for $1.99, Campbell’s condensed or microwave soup for $1, and 4- to 6-ounce containers of Yoplait yogurt for 50 cents, plus additional savings using Printacoupon. From Sunday-Saturday (Oct. 25-31), Hannaford markets in Nashua, Hudson and Londonderry have 6- to 8-ounce containers of store brand yogurt for 35 cents, Hormel cooked ham for $2.99 a pound, store brand half-gallons of premium orange juice for $2.39, and boneless N.Y. sirloin steak for $2.99 a pound.

From Sunday-Saturday (Oct. 25-31), Walgreens has Chicken of the Sea chunk white tuna in 5-ounce cans for 89 cents with flier coupon (limit 2), cans of Campbell’s Spaghettios or Chunky soup, buy one, get one free (limit 4) plus a couple of products that are free after Register Rewards (limit 1): ChapStick Fresh Effects ($2.99), 10-count Fiber Choice or 12-count Beano to Go ($2.49) and 2-count single dose packs of Robitussin to Go ($2.49).
