Hot prices on live lobsters, beef and poultry

Lobsters – at a good price – are a featured special this week at a couple of area supermarket chains, and there are also deals on chicken, turkey and beef for your dining pleasure.
From today-Thursday (Oct. 9-14), all area Shaw’s have live lobsters up to 1.25 pounds selling for $4.99 a pound. And that’s before you apply the at www.shaws.com. Shaw’s also has sirloin tip steak for $3.99 a pound, Shady Brook Farms fresh hotel-style turkey breaks for 99 cents a pound (plus extra savings from Printacoupon), Barilla pasta in 12- to 16-ounce boxes for 88 cents a pound (limit eight) as well as a $3 coupon off your next shopping trip if you buy $10 worth of participating items on the back of the flier.
From Sunday-Saturday (Oct. 11-17), Market Basket also has live lobsters for $4.99 a pound, plus schrod haddock fillets for $4.99 a pound, fresh chicken leg quarters for 69 cents a pound, rare deli roast beef for $3.99 a pound, a 10-ounce bag of spinach for 99 cents, imported asparagus for $1.99 a pound, 24-ounce loaves of four varieties of Freihofer’s Country Breads for $1.50, 89-ounce containers of Florida’s Natural orange juice for $2.99, 2-pound packages of store brand frozen peas, corn, broccoli or mixed vegetables for $1.67, and Anjou, Bartlett or Bosc pears in value packs for 79 cents a pound.
From today-Thursday (Oct. 9-15), Stop & Shop in Milford (and possibly other locations, but check local prices) has store brand boneless breast of chicken in 3-pound or bigger packages for $1.99 a pound, Brawny paper towels in 8-roll (or if you must 6-roll) packages and Quilted Northern bath tissue in 12 double roll (or if you must 9 mega roll) packages for $5 (limit 2 each), 3-pound or larger packages of 80 percent lean ground beef for $1.99 a pound and various Healthy Choice or Marie Callender’s frozen meals for $2.
From Sunday-Saturday (Oct. 11-17), Walgreens has Kleenex facial tissues at “buy 1 for $2.19, get 1 free” in 80-, 85-, 100- or 200-sheet boxes with the flier coupon (limit 4), Energizer batteries (including 4-pack AA or AAA rechargeables and a value charger with 2 AA rechargeables) for $7.99, various Lysol cleaning products are on sale on a buy 1, get 1 basis, Gillette Fusion MVP Manual or Power razors for $2.99 (after $6 back in Register Rewards), Vicks DayQuil or NyQuil are two for $5 (after $5 back in Register Rewards), and various Duracell battery packs are $4.99 (after $1 back in Register Rewards). Plus, if you buy eight or more Bertolli, Ragu, Skippy or Hellman’s products, you’ll get $8 in Register Rewards and if you buy six or more products, you’ll get a $4 coupon for a future purchase.
