Post-holiday bargains still there to grab

There were some special two- or four-day sales at stores and markets during the Memorial Day weekend, but like most weekends, they came to an end too soon. Don’t worry, bargain-hunters, there are still some good deals to be had as we play out the end of the fliers’ week.
A dozen ears of corn can be had for $1.99 at both Shaw’s and Stop & Shop supermarkets through Thursday, and sirloin tips are $3.99 in any size package at Shaw’s and in 3-pound or larger packages at Stop & Shop. Stop & Shop also has pound packages of its store-brand butter for $1.67 and 48-ounce containers of Friendly’s ice cream for $1.99, limit three. Fresh boneless salmon fillets are $5.99 a pound.
At Market Basket, live hard-shell lobsters are $4.99 a pound. Plum roma tomatoes are 79 cents a pound and Klondike ice cream bars in six-packs are $2.50. Its store brand season french fries are $1.50 for a 24-ounce bag. Uno cheese (23 ounce) or pepperoni (25 ounce) pizzas are $3.33. Packages of celery stalks are 99 cents, and a 5-pound bag of red bliss potatoes is $2.49.
At Hannaford in Nashua, Hudson, Londonderry or Pelham, you can get Hormel cooked deli ham for $1.99 a pound, Kraft Philadelphia cream cheese in 8-ounce bricks and boneless pork sirloin steak in 3- to 4-pound packages are 99 cents a pound.
At the drug stores, there are some good deals, too. CVS has 4-ounce tubes of Colgate Total Advance toothpaste for 99 cents after $2 in Extra Bucks. Osteo Bi-Flex triple strength tablets in 80-count bottles are $13.99 and Tums in 36- to 150-count containers are $2.99 – the lowest price of the year, according to the flier. And Speed Stick Pro deodorant in 2.7-ounce container is free after $3.99 in Extra Bucks.
At Walgreens, a Tropicana orange juice half-gallon will be $1.99 after $1 in Register Rewards (limit one). Rechargeable AA and AAA Energizer batteries and charger are $7.99. Reach Ultraclean toothbrush or floss (30 yards) are two for $2 after $3 in Register Rewards. And Colgate Total toothpaste or Wave toothbrushes are 99 cents after $1.50 in Register Rewards (limit one).
Always look to use manufacturer’s coupons to save even more.
