This week, two big drugstore chains are offering good deals, including some “free after bonus bucks” specials.
Walgreens has Edge or Skintimate shave creams free after $2.99 in its Register Rewards. There’s also a bargain on 12-packs of select sodas, including A&W, Dr Pepper and 7 Up, with $5 back in Register Rewards, making the price like three for $6. (I’ve been trying to cut back on carbonated drinks, but when the price drops to $2 a 12-pack, I’ll say “buy.”) Looking ahead to a hot summer, shoppers should weigh the $3 to $5 savings on fans. Reach dental products, including floss and Prevent brushes, are 99 cents, limit three. Claritin 24- or 30-count tablets are $14.99 after $5 in Register Rewards, and there’s a $7 off manufacturer’s coupon to use this week. And Bic Soleil and Comfort 3 disposable shavers are $3.99 after a coupon from the monthly flier.
CVS also has the deal on Edge shave cream; it’s free after $2.89 in Extra Bucks. A variety of Crest dental products, including 4.2-ounce Pro-Health toothpaste, are 88 cents after $2 in Extra Bucks (and even less if you use a $1 off manufacturer’s coupon). CVS brand rechargeable AA and AAA batteries are buy one get one free, and Energizer batteries, including the rechargeable four-packs are $8.99. And Tresemme hair products are three for $5 after $5 in Extra Bucks on three.
Among bargains at supermarkets are a $10 saving on your next shopping trip to Shaw’s if you spend $25 on items like Marie Callender’s dinners, Health Choice selections, Pam, Reddi wip and Hebrew National franks. You can also get a free T-shirt made from recycled plastic bottles if you spend $15 on select PepsiCo products, including Tropicana, Sun Chips and Lipton tea 12-packs. And there’s a coupon for $2 off 20 Yoplait cups.
Stop & Shop has select Kellogg’s cereals at $1.67, and the supermarket chain is still running its special of “buy six gallons of milk with your loyalty card and get the seventh gallon free.” The chain is also giving five reusable shopping bags when you spend $15 on General Mills, Scott Natural or Clorox Green Works.
Market Basket has boneless and skinless chicken breast for $1.99 a pound. It has store brand 12-ounce bags of steamed vegetables for 99 cents. Cottonelle bath tissue 24-packs are $4.99 Hood cottage cheese 1-pound containers are $1.67. Skippy peanut butter in a 36.4-ounce jar is $2.99. California celery bunches are 99 cents. Fresh green beans are 89 cents a pound. And cauliflower heads are $1.50.
Always look to use manufacturer’s coupons to save even more.
