Some supermarkets use the covers of their weekly fliers to promote their best deals, while other markets seem to run good deals on many of the pages.
This week, we find four specials from Stop & Shop – all on the front cover – beckoning us to make the trip. Tropicana half-gallons of orange juice are listed at $1.99 (limit four), while value packs (3 pounds or more) of both center cut pork chops and boneless breast of chicken are $1.79. Also, sweet red peppers and broccoli crowns are 99 cents a pound and cantaloupes are 99 cents each.
Hannaford’s cover also lists a lot of good bargains this week. It also has boneless (and skinless) chicken breast in 3- to 5-pound packages for $1.79. Dozens of store-brand large brown eggs at 97 cents. Cook’s ham (and water) butt portion is 99 cents a pound, while the shank portion costs 79 cents a pound. Looking for a deal on the beer and pizza meal? Hannaford has Freschetta pizzas up to 28 ounces for $3.33, and 18-packs of light beer cans (Miller Lite and Coors and Bud Light) are $9.99.
Market Basket’s deals run throughout the flier, including on the cover, Uno 11- or 14-ounce flatbread pizzas for $3.33, Willowbrook Farms fancy turkey breast for $2.99 a pound, 3-pound bags of McIntosh or Empire apples for $1.99 and heads of romaine lettuce for 79 cents. Inside, we find 15-ounce cans of DelMonte Sloppy Joe mix for 99 cents, its store brand cooked ham for $1.99 a pound, Perdue oven stuffers (6 to 8 pounds) at 89 cents a pound, and previously frozen haddock fillets for $4.99 a pound. Its House Blend coffee in 34.5-ounce cans is $4.99 and store-brand bath tissue 16-packs (and double and ultra eight-packs or paper towel six packs) are $4. Finally, 18-packs of Michelob, Molson or Labatt cans are $10.99, and Pabst Blue Ribbon or Miller 30-packs of cans are $13.99.
The Shaw’s cover has varieties of Post cereals in 13- to 24-ounce boxes at two for $3 (must buy 2), and its brand of split chicken breast is $1.19 a pound for 3 pounds or more and its fresh ground beef (80 percent lean) is $1.99 a pound, any size package.
Walgreens drugstore is offering two, 10-packs of Quaker Chewy Granola bars or two, 15- or 16-ounce boxes of Life or Cap’n Crunch cereal for $3 after $2 back in Register Rewards. A printer cartridge refill is free, after mail-in rebate of $7.50; more than 100 cartridge models in black or color are covered. Finally, a box of 30-count Wal-itin, store brand allergy relief, is free after $6.99 mail-in rebate.
At CVS, a Paas egg-decorating kit is free after $1.99 in ExtraBucks. Store-brand pints of rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide are priced at 50 cents, the drugstore’s lowest price of the year. Also, you’ll get $5 in ExtraBucks if you spend $10 on select Pond’s products, including Clean Sweep and Cold Cream
Always look to use manufacturer’s coupons to save even more.
