Roasts and grapes on sale coming or going

Like grapes and top round roasts? A couple of supermarkets have both those items as specials this week, letting you shop where it’s more convenient.

Hannaford has the roast for $1.97 a pound and green seedless grapes for 99 cents a pound. Shank portions of Cook’s or Smithfield hams also are 79 cents a pound.

Stop & Shop, in Hudson and Milford, has top or bottom round roast for $1.99 and red seedless grapes also for 99 cents a pound. And the supermarket chain’s circular is still offering free antibiotics (up to a 14-day supply) on prescribed generics through March 21 at its pharmacies.

Meanwhile, Shaw’s four-day sale, which ends Monday, offers 8- to 12-ounce bags of New England Coffee at $2.50. Various sizes of different brands of Kellogg’s cereals are $1.50, limit four, and 6-ounce “cups” of Dannon Light & Fit yogurt are 40 cents. If you’re looking for quantity bargains, a coupon on the back cover will save you $5 if you spend $20 on various General Mills products through Thursday.

Market Basket has 14-ounce boxes of Cheerios and smaller boxes of Total and Honey Nut and Multi Grain Cheerios for $2, Florida’s Natural orange juice half-gallons for $2.50, center-cut pork chops (bone-in) for $1.69 a pound and boneless chuck pot roast for $2.29 a pound. Its brand of frozen peas, corn, broccoli and mixed veggies are $1.67 for 2-pound bags. Fresh green cabbage is 33 cents a pound; roma plum tomatoes are 99 cents a pound; and red peppers in value pack bags are $1.29 a pound.

Walgreens drugstores have three chances to save and get its Register Rewards for purchases. You can earn $5 back if you spend $20 on various Procter & Gamble products; you can earn $10, $6 or $2 for buying eight, six or four products including Dove personal or hair care, Lipton tea, Hellman’s and Ragu; and you can get $3 back for buying two Neosporin or Band-Aid products.

Finally, CVS drugstores on Monday have Claritin Liqui-Gels (24 count) for $9.99 after $10 back in ExtraBucks. Other deals are 20 double rolls of Cottonelle bathroom tissue for $8.97 after $4 back in ExtraBucks, 10.1-ounce Herbal Essences hair product for $1.99 after $1 in ExtraBucks, and CVS brand 24-Hour Allergy Relief (five count) free after $3.79 in ExtraBucks. Last but not least, CVS is offering $10 in ExtraBucks if you spend $20 on various PepsiCo products.

Look to use manufacturer’s coupons to save even more.
