Shoppers are getting Happy New Year deals from a couple of supermarkets, just in time for the holiday.

Hannaford is selling live lobsters between 1 and 1½ pounds for $3.99, while supplies last, and Stop & Shop’s flier lists sirloin steak tips in 3-pound or heavier packages at $2.99 a pound.

Other good bargains at Hannaford include boneless pork sirloin steak for 99 cents a pound, Hormel cooked ham for $2.89 a pound and Hannaford Bake & Rise Pizza, in 28.93- to 34.9-ounce sizes, for $3.33.

Stop & Shop also has a couple of buy one, get one deals that might be worthwhile if the price on the one is good; look for those deals on Thomas’ English muffins in 12-ounce packages and Freihofer’s Country Breads 24-ounce loaves.

Market Basket is selling six varieties of Prince pasta in 1-pound boxes for 69 cents. Other good deals at that supermarket chain are its 19-ounce loaves of Split Top Wheat Bread for 99 cents, Tropicana orange juice half-gallons for $2.50 and 8-ounce packages of Sargento shredded cheese for 99 cents.

This week’s CVS flier also has some good deals. You can get bottles of Flex-a-min or Osteo Bi-Flex glucosamine, MSM or chondroitin tablets in a buy one, get one plus $3 in ExtraBucks. Colgate Total Advanced toothpaste in 4-ounce tubes would be free after $2 back in Extra Bucks plus a $1 manufacturer’s coupon. Other freebies (after Extra Bucks and mail-in rebates) include blood-glucose or diabetes monitoring systems from Bayer Contour, Nova Max or Accu-Chek Aviva.

Walgreen has some money-back offers for customers who buy Listerine mouthwash, Crest toothpaste, Oral B toothbrushes or Head & Shoulders, Herbal Essences, Pantene or Infusium shampoos in assorted sizes. There are also Register Rewards available for buying Johnson’s, Desitin and store-brand pediatric electrolyte or baby wipes. Also, spending $20 on Vicks products could get you $10 in Register Rewards and $15 spent could get you $5 back. Finally, there are free after mail-in rebate offers on various Revlon lipsticks, eye shadows, blush, eyeliner or Orajel cold sore medicine.

Look to save more using manufacturer’s coupons, too.
