Great toilet paper deals coming out the wazoo

Filed under Savvy Shopper by sherman smith at 12:24 am

It’s a great week to clean up on toilet-paper bargains. Shaw’s and Walgreens both are running specials on Cottonelle (a 24-roll package of Ultra for $5 at the former and a four-pack double roll for $2 at the latter) and you can use a $1 manufacturer’s coupon, too. Stop & Shop is offering 24-roll packages of Angel Soft for $5. And CVS has Charmin 12 big roll packages for $5.50 plus a $1 manufacturer’s coupon.

Bananas are priced at 39 cents a pound at Market Basket, and Stop & Shop has 12 ears of sweet corn for $2. Stop & Shop also is running a special on Hood ice cream at $2 for the 56-ounce container (limit three), and you can use a $1-off-two coupon that’s still valid.

Other good drug store specials include the “Buy $10 of a variety of candy brands and get $5 back in ExtraBucks” at CVS. Also at CVS, you’ll get $5 back in ExtraBucks on 50-count or larger Pepcid. And check your early August CVS receipts for a free gift.

Walgreens also is offering store-brand gallons of bleach for $1 with coupon (limit two) and store-brand packages of basket (200-count) or cone (100-count) coffee filters at $1 with coupon (limit three). Got a headache, or expecting one or more soon? Pick up the 500-count bottle of aspirin for $2 with coupon (limit three).

Finally, a Firestone flier that came with The Telegraph on Saturday advertises a $15 oil-change special, including new filter and five quarts of synthetic blend motor oil, plus four-tire rotation and air-pressure check through Aug. 30. Add $2.50 for oil filter recycling.
