Don’t miss the call on this deal

Several telephone packages featured in the Staples flier this week caught my eye and I call that a timely offering, because I was in the market for a new system.
Our corded main house phone/answering system got zapped by a recent lightning storm just as I was ready to switch our service over to Internet calling through T-Mobile, which uses a wireless router off our Verizon broadband Internet hookup.
The Staples ad lists two, attractive, three-phone systems, one all cordless from Uniden for $45 and one with a corded main phone from GE for $50. The prices are after instant savings or rebates, and both brands are highly rated.
Both CVS and Rite Aid drug stores have good deals listed this week. At CVS, buy $20 worth of Johnson & Johnson products and get $10 in ExtraBucks, or get Band-Aids packages for $1 (for free if you have a coupon) after ExtraBucks. Finally, there are 500-count bottles of CVS nonaspirin, enteric aspirin or ibuprofen for $12.
Rite Aid has tempting ads for dental products, including four tubes of 7.8-ounce Total Advanced Care toothpaste for $6 after rebate (and use coupons, too.) and three, two-packs of Reach toothbrushes for $2 after rebates. There are also Garnier Fructis melting mask or conditioner or shampoo or conditioner free after $3 rebates.
Shaw’s and Market Basket fliers list some good food deals. Shaw’s is selling bottles of Ragu pasta sauce for $1 (save more with manufacturer’s coupons) and check out buy one, get one (sadly the flier didn’t list a price) on Wise potato chips and Johnsonville Italian sausage.
Market Basket has large eggs for $1.20, half-gallons for Dole 100 percent juice blends for $2, 12-packs of Hood ice cream novelties for $2, and 1.5-liter bottles of CK Mondavi wines for $9.
Drink, eat up and use those savings.
