Market Basket has me coming back for deals
Filed under Savvy Shopper by sherman smith
Good prices on a couple of items as advertised in its weekly flier may not be enough to draw me to a supermarket or drug store – unless I’m driving by. But if a market or drug store has a handful of items on sale and if the advertised prices are among the lowest in the area, I’ll plan on making a stop to shop. Again this week, I’ll be heading to Market Basket for some bargains.
Through Saturday (Nov. 14), Market Basket has Jif peanut butter in 17.3- to 18-ounce jars for $1.50, bananas for 39 cents a pound, 24-ounce loaves of store brand hearty breads, including oat nut and hearty nut, for $1.50, schrod haddock fillets for $5.99 a pound, Krakus Polish ham for $3.99 a pound, half-gallons of Florida’s Natural orange juice for $2.50, store brand 1-pound bags of frozen vegetables, including peas, corn, green beans and butternut squash, half-gallons of Langer’s 100% juice, value packs of Bartlett, Anjou and Bosc pears for 79 cents a pound, Florida navel oranges (12 in a bag) for $3.49, 23- to 25-ounce Uno’s cheese or pepperoni pizza for $3.34, Folger’s coffee in 22-6- to 34.5-ounce containers for $5.99 and gallons of Uni-Gard windshield washer fluid for $1.50.
Through Thursday (Nov. 12), Stop & Shop in Milford (and possibly Hudson) has boneless breast of chicken in 3-pound or larger packages for$1.79 a pound, Folger’s coffee in 22-6- to 34.5-ounce containers also for $5.99, and Brawny 8-roll packages or Quilted Northern 12 double-roll packages for $4.99 (limit 2).
Through Thursday (Nov. 16), all area Shaw’s have Eastern apples, including McIntosh, Empire and Cortland, sold in tote bags for 58 cents a pound, 9.44- to 28.01-ounce Freschetta or PizzAmore pizzas for $4.49, Fresh Express salad blends in 5- to 12-ounce packages for $2, haddock fillets for $5.99 a pound, and bottom round roast or steak for $2.49, plus extra savings from Printacoupon at shaws.com.
Through Saturday (Nov. 14), Hannaford markets in Nashua, Hudson and Londonderry have rib and sirloin end pork chops in 4- to 5-pound packages for $1.19 and 6-ounce Breyer’s yogurt for 40 cents.
Through Saturday (Nov. 14), at Walgreens, you can save $5 on an in-store $25 purchase with the store flier coupon that comes with your Sunday Telegraph. Also, the drug store has 5-pound bags of Gold Medal flour for $1.50 (limit 4) and baking supplies, such as a 12-ounce bag of Nestle morsels and 7-ounce bag of Baker’s coconut for $1.79, both with coupons on the wrap-around flier. In addition, you can get an 8-ounce jar of regular or decaf Maxwell House instant coffee for $3.79 (limit 2), a knit hat with speakers free with purchase of 2 Energizer Performance batteries, including 4-packs of rechargeables or lithium, for $7.99, and Purex 2x laundry detergent in 35- or 46-load containers for $3.99, which is labeled the store’s “lowest price ever.”
Through Saturday (Nov. 14), CVS has Quattro for Women razors or 4-count refills for $4.99 after $3 back in Extra Bucks, 6-ounce tubes of Crest Pro-Health or 4.1-ounce tubes of Sensitivity toothpaste are two for $2.98 after $4 back in Extra Bucks and shoppers who spend $20 on various products like Claritin, Zyrtec, Robitussin, Triaminic and Benadryl will get $10 back in Extra Bucks.
Always try to use manufacturers coupons to save even more.
