Top 10 list of things to do over Memorial Day weekend

Filed under Family, General by bob hammerstrom at 10:11 am

1) Go to the dump. Sounds exciting ha? Don’t want the aroma from the refuse cans to spoil the taste of my barbeque.

2) Mow the lawn. Another thrilling adventure, but something that’s gotta get done.

3) Grill out on the patio. Yum, yum!

4) Get a burning permit. No, not needed for my grill, but will be for a bonfire if it gets cool over the weekend. I built a bonfire pit into the retaining wall for the patio.

5) Sleep in! This should be #1 on my list.

6) Watch the Red Sox on tv. They start a series with the Mets Friday through Sunday, and against Minnesota Monday.

7) Email grandpa with my son’s baseball pictures. Grandparents love to receive pictures of the family.

8) Update my fantasy baseball team’s roster. I’m afraid to look at the standings, since I haven’t viewed it lately.

9) Enjoy our neighbor’s barbeque. Nothing like spending time with friends over Memorial Day weekend.

10) Take my son to the baseball field to work out. I think if my son had his way, we’d have to bring the grill and sleeping bags to the baseball field for the weekend. Family time on the field is priceless. Mom shags the balls in the outfield, while I pitch to my son for a little batting practice. We’ll also work on grounders, and scooping the ball at first base.

Enjoy your weekend!
