Happy Monday…..
You Go Girl!
Happy news in our household! My daughter is thrilled to have been chosen for the NH U13 Girls ODP team. She’s joined by a couple girls from her club team along with girls from other teams around the state. There’s a roster of 14 with alternates competing for the final two spots. Practices are set for Sundays at the Hampshire Dome in Milford and then move to the windy fields in Pembroke once the weather clears. The girls will begin preparing for the Rider Tournament which takes place in June. Other state teams from Region 1 converge on the Princeton area to enjoy a weekend of games and the Region staff begin their process of ID’ing possible Regional players. It’s a great opportunity for them all to learn from each other, experience a different coaching style, formulate new dreams and make new friends. You go Girl! I’m so proud!
The Boston Breakers Deserve Your Support….
Speaking of Dreams… there are lot of girls, young ladies, and grown women (boys and men too!) who have been awaiting the return Women Professional Soccer (WPS). The new era of women’s soccer kicks off on March 29th, 2009. There are currently 7 teams in the league. The Boston Breakers have signed U.S. National Team players, new faces from around the globe and have a fabulous coaching staff to bring it all together. To name a few of the talented players throughout the league….Amy Rodriguez, Heather Mitts, Angela Hucles, Kristine Lilly, Shannon Boxx, Stephanie Cox, and 3x FIFA Player of the Year – Marta (Brazil) will only provide inspiration and fuel the dreams of so many girls through out the country…. And beyond. My family will watch their first game, April 5th against FC Gold Pride, California as its televised on FSC at 6p ET. We hope to catch at least one or two of the 11 home games this season – the first being April 11th against St. Louis Athletica. It’ll be fun watching these gals bring their talents to smaller, more intimate venues and hopefully they’ll give the men’s MLS a run for its money! Come support this new league of extrordinary women!! Rah! Rah! www.bostonbreakers.com and www.womensprosoccer.com
