Man Room, or Woman Room…What’s in your basement?

Filed under Family, Fans, General, Memorbilia, Parents by bob hammerstrom at 4:43 pm

What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the words “man room?” Now try to imagine a “woman room.” What’s the difference?

If you said the “woman room” has a stove, dishwasher and refrigerator in it, you might as well bunk down in your car for the night, cause you’ll be locked out and your wife will be livid.

Although I’ve never heard of a “woman room,” it wasn’t until a couple weeks ago, that I was educated to the aesthetics of a “man room.” Imagine a family room with a bar, a big screen television and sports memorbilia on the walls. Oops, did I give the secret away guys?

I’ve been wanting to build one of these for years. Now, if I propose the project to my wife, and call it a “woman room,” maybe she’ll go for it.

We’re running a story in our Lifestyle section of The Telegraph Wednesday by intern Andrew Spinali, about “man rooms” in the Nashua area. These people went all-out in their renovating and decorating. You won’t find pink walls and flowers in Mark Swidler’s “man room,” even though it was designed by his wife, Melissa. She is the designer for their company, Ultimate Man Room, LLC. Check out their web site for ideas!
