Take a month-long vacation!

Need a vacation? How about a month? The thoughts are racing through your head already. Mexico, Florida, Arizona, or some desolate island. Now, don’t get too excited yet, only your arm is going on vacation! Say what?
I’m talking about a vacation for your baseball or softball pitching arm. I guess dart or javelin throwers could qualify as well.
Most baseball leagues up north, have put away their bats and gloves for the winter already, but there are still many kids playing baseball year-around in the warmer states. While they do gain more experience from playing the game year-around, they are also taking chances on injuries, by not taking the time to give their arms a break and heal.
Although my son, Brandon, is just finishing football up for the season, and basketball is just around the corner, he’s taking December off from pitching lessons and baseball practice, to give those muscles a break. It’s encouraged by his AAU baseball coach. He will start up again in January, and get ready for the high school season.
Now back to the vacation ideas. If you don’t have the funds to travel to a warm place down south, you could always roll up your sleeve and hang that vacationing arm out the car window, to get a good farmers’ tan!
