Baseball gloves for soldiers

Filed under Baseball, General by bob hammerstrom at 6:00 am

Do you wish you could do something for the soldiers in Iraq? Here’s a way to give them some enjoyment is their down time at war. Send a baseball glove.

I received an email third-hand from the Jacksons in Litchfield. They run the NH Grizzlies baseball program. She received it from a teacher at Hudson Memorial School. Please read:

“Subject: Old Baseball Gloves

My daughter’s Brownie troop is collecting old, usable adult baseball gloves for a unit stationed in Iraq. One of the troop leaders in Litchfield has a son who is stationed over there, and his unit is desperate for “stuff to do” on their downtime. We’re asking everyone we know to collect any baseball gloves that are hanging around the house collecting dust.If you have one at home, or know someone who might, would you mind bringing it in to my classroom? I promise they will go to very good use. We’ll take anything that’s remotely usable, as long as it’s adult-sized.

Thanks in advance!

This is a great way to give back to the troops. I’ve included the school’s street address below, if you wish to mail one.

Hudson Memorial School, 1 Memorial Drive, Hudson, NH 03051, 603-886-1240.
