Lady Liberty- hands on history from the Liberty Foundation

Some days the assignments are better than others. I was lucky enough to score this one for several reasons. I have a strong interest in World War Two issues- the people, politics, etc, something I’ve held for many years, along with flyfishing. When work combines with either one of these subjects (rarely with the second, if ever) then it’s a good day.

When I can give back or serve through my work as a photographer, that’s fabulous. It was particularly good because of the companion I was able to travel with Monday.  Another way I could give back.

Note of local interest- Many planes shuttled through what was then Grenier Field (Manchester Boston Regional Airport MHT) on their way to the war.  I found the 390th Bomb Group site online and discovered that the original B-17 that would wear the Liberty Belle nose art came through on May 24, 1944.
