Monster or mystery - Do you need a hand?

Whose arm is that, and what’s it doing there?

No, I didn’t stop at the B.K. for lunch to photograph the kids in the playground. And yes, the boy on the other end of the arm is alive and breathing - just hiding.

I was at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center’s pediatric offices in Hudson Wednesday, March 11, taking pictures of kids receiving therapy for speech and motor skills. After sailing down a mini zipline, four-year-old Evan LaCroix let go of the handle on the line, and dropped a few feet into a tub of plastic balls, disappearing momentarily.

As he emerged, I was ready and waiting with my Canon 16-35mm lens. Although I was initially trying to catch him in midair falling (that photo will be running in The Telegraph soon with a story), this picture of his arm emerging from the depths of toyland looked interesting and mysterious to me.

Was it a small monster reaching for my camera like a scene from a horror movie? Not this time - just a toddler having a blast in the occupational therapy room at the medical center.
