Pot grows BIG in Wisconsin

If you think those chunks of cheese are bige, worn on the heads of Green Bay Packers fans, you should see how big marijuana plants grow in the dairy state!

A La Crosse (Wis.) County Sheriff’s deputy proudly displays a huge marijuana plant confiscated along with a truckload of other plants from a field.
I shot this image in the mid-1980’s while a journalism student at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I was processing my black and white film, after shooting a freelance assignment for the La Crosse Tribune. Someone in the newsroom asked for a photographer to walk over to the County Sheriff’s Department to take a photo.
This sheriff’s deputy searched through the pile of pot plants and found this one. It was at least 10 feet tall.
Take a look at this video I produced for www.nashuatelegraph.comon Clayton Holton, a New Hampshire resident who smokes marijuana through a pipe to relieve his pain. He is an advocate for legalizing medical marijuana in the state. Holton smokes the pipe in the video.
