I had the longest commute of my life this morning - 24 miles in an hour and 40 minutes. As I was driving (I mean sitting in traffic) on the F.E. Everett Turnpike this morning, I noticed this portable alert billboard on the side of the road. Wishful thinking!
I thought this angle made for a striking photo from today’s inauguration of Barack Obama. Simple but effective. When I checked out the National Press Photographers Association site tonight I found the back story to how it was made.
There’s something about photographing breakfasts that usually turns me off. After all, taking talking-head photos at microphones isn’t exactly challenging. The exceptions are the Wild Irish Breakfast’s humor, and the annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. events.

While shooting still photos inside Jackie’s Diner today, I spotted this hawk atop a building in downtown Nashua. Now a hawk isn’t a new sight for those working or shopping on Main Street, but what it was sitting on, made me do a double-take.
