Take a hike: Dunstable shows off Unkety Brook land

Posted by andrew wolfe

If you haven’t explored the Arched Bridge Conservation area lately (off Middle Dunstable Road, literally spitting distance over the state line), you might consider a look. The Dunstable Rural Land Trust has opened and marked several trails previously posted as off-limits, thanks to the wisdom and generosity of voters at a recent town meting.

You’ll never break these heads of stone

Posted by andrew wolfe

I had forgotten, in my post surgical haze, to acknowledge this year’s Stoneheads. I did last year, after all, and as it happens, the same two trail runners extraordinaire have repeated.

Exploration

I wrote before about good places to bicycle off road in Nashua (and elsewhere), but I was holding out.
I didn’t want to share word of my favorite local spot, both for fear of exposing it to overuse and because I wasn’t sure it was a legit, public trail… it seemed too good to be true. [...]

DRLT by XC ski

Posted by andrew wolfe

I got acquainted with the Dunstable Rural Land Trust property by mountain bike this past summer. No surprise, it’s also a great place to ski.
The most popular parking spot and access point off Main Dunstable Road isn’t open in the winter; they don’t plow the shoulder there. There is, however, a small parking area along Main Street in Dunstable [...]

It struck me that it would be useful to put together a bunch of links for online trail maps all in one place. So, I’m working on it. I’ll add more as they occur to me, and as always I welcome suggestions:
