Some 200 members of the Dartmouth College Outing Club have organized an audacious attempt: together, they will strive to hike the entire Appalachian Trail in one day. That is, they will all hike at the same time, each on a different section of the trail, one person ending where the next began. They claim it’s never been done, and I don’t doubt it.
