“Nashua River in Autumn:
NRWA Guided Paddle for Families”
The Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) invites families to join us for a guided paddle on the spectacular section of the Nashua River from the Ayer Ice House Dam downstream into Groton. This river trip will take place on Sunday, September 20th, from 12:30 to 4:30 PM, beginning and ending in Ayer. Your guide will be Stacey Chilcoat, NRWA River Classroom Director. On this lovely flatwater paddle (approx. 5 miles), we’ll look for signs of wildlife, learn about the natural history of the river, and simply enjoy the changes that the season brings to the river landscape. A great family outing!
Special thanks to Grady Research of Ayer for sponsoring this river trip!
This river trip is part of a series of free programs, open to the public, which the NRWA is offering in celebration of its 40th Anniversary. Over the course of the year, NRWA will be presenting a program in each of our 32 communities; visit www.NashuaRiverWatershed.org for additional information.
There is no charge if you bring your own boat; paid rentals are available through Nashoba Paddler. Space is limited: pre-registration is required, whether or not you bring your own boat. To pre-register, or for more information, call Nashoba Paddler at (978) 448-8699, or email Diane@NashobaPaddler.com. The Nashua River Watershed Association is a non-profit environmental organization that depends on memberships for support.
