Nashua strikes a blow against safe cycling
Filed under Uncategorized by andrew wolfe at 10:19 am
Check out this week’s “Nashua Inside” for a brief article on the use of the Nashua River Rail Trail, and the City of Nashua’s bone-headed decision to lock up its parking lot and “close” its section of the trail at dusk (fortunately, most of the trail is in Massachusetts).
When the days get short and cold darkness descends upon our land, the NRRT and Mine Falls Park are among the few safe places to cycle (or walk, or run) after dark. I won’t ride the roads, even with lights; traffic is just too perilous. I for one will continue to ride the rail trail at night, and I couldn’t care less whether the city deigns to approve.
