Trail Expo - Sunday May 17 at Hampshire Hills - free admission
The Milford Conservation Commission is sponsoring its second Trail Expo on Sunday, May 17 from 12:00 noon to 5pm at the Hampshire Hills Sports and Fitness Center, Emerson Rd., Milford, NH. We are expecting this event to be even bigger and more exciting than the last Expo held in Feb 2006, which drew more than 700 people!
The purpose of the event is to increase public awareness of trails in the region and to allow groups to come together to display and share information. Non-profit organizations, municipal or state organizations and local retailers have been invited to display information, sell books and equipment and give presentations on related topics. The public is invited to come at no charge. Attendees should expect to learn more about activities & recreational opportunities on public lands in the area. We will also have information on wildlife and ecology available. Food and beverages will be available to purchase.
We have scheduled a number of presenters during the afternoon for children and adults alike! We will have a schedule available before and at the event.
- Presentations include: Fritz Wetherbee (A Haunting in Monson), Marcia Wilson (Eyes on Owls, featuring live owls), Andres Institute of Art (Outdoor sculptures from international artists), Charles Martin (NH Rail-Trails), Granite State Chapter Delta Waterfowl (Local Duck Identification), Bill Fitzpatrick and his search dog, Merrie (Lost and Found, Safe and Sound) and more!
