The Grater Road area used to be a pretty fun place to mountain bike, but the last time I visited, a few years ago, development (a new school not the least of it) was gnawing at the edges and loggers and ATVs were gnashing up the middle. I haven’t been back since, but I know there’s still some nice terrain left. Better still, the good folks of the Merrimack Conservation Commission are looking out for it. They’re meeting this Thursday evening (Jan. to hear a proposal for development and management of a trail system, and they welcome participation from the public. The meeting will be in a conference room in the town hall, at 6:30 p.m.
