You’ll never break these heads of stone

Filed under races, trails by andrew wolfe at 4:15 pm

I had forgotten, in my post surgical haze, to acknowledge this year’s Stoneheads. I did last year, after all, and as it happens, the same two trail runners extraordinaire have repeated.

Thomas Parker, 41, of Nashua, completed 20 races in the Western Mass. Athletic Club’s Grand Tree series, for a total of 1382 points. Way to fly, Thomas! You have probably seen the man running around town, whether you know it or not. He’s always out there.

Michelle Roy of Groton, Mass., finished 18 races to repeat the feat, with a total of 1130.5 points. Michelle has always left me gobsmacked, and her performance this year absolutely blew my mind (I couldn’t help checking race results once in a while, and yes I admit I’m biased but the woman is fast and strong, running races back-to-back and such).

Official standings and information about the GT and the winter snowshoe series are available, as always, on the club’s website.
