Two races to go in new NH trail running series

There’s a new batch of trail races out in west-central New Hampshire, with two races yet to run this fall. The Western NH Trail Running Series has five races, all in the Dartmouth-Hanover-Lebanon region (up I-89, northwest of Concord). It also has a website, an impressive roster of sponsors and some 169 runners participating to date in the first year, organizers report.
Though injuries have ended my own running career, I can’t recommend trail running highly enough. It’s far more fun and more challenging than running on asphalt. If the trip up north seems too far, check out the Grand Tree series or the 3C Races, which include both trail and road races, some of them right around here in Nashua and Hollis.
