NH 10th best in US for cycling

So sayeth the League of American Bicyclists. I didn’t even know that we cyclists had a union. The league announced its rankings Friday in a press release. As is so often the case with such 50 state ratings, it appears to be fairly superficial, and mostly just a gimmick designed to promote an adgenda. Making our communities, highways and byways better for bicycling is a good adgenda, however, and one that I wholeheartedly support. FWIW, NH got the number 10 ranking by having good laws and regulations concerning bicycles, and a policy and some funds for bicycle parking. No mention of the Mt. Washington race, the challenges and scenic rewards of cranking through the White Mountains, the miles and miles of off road single track… that’s okay, we know it’s good.
