Trail Treasure still riding

Filed under Uncategorized by andrew wolfe at 12:59 pm

As several people wrote to let me know, someone swiped the Treasure Chest while I was off on vacation. I have since replaced it, and checked on it just last night, so check back if you get a chance!

This contest was perhaps too easy, and the chest hidden in a place too often visited. The next one will be much more challenging, and the hunt will require hiking or running.

This second round of the contest also gave us our first entry in verse, from Larry Wedick, 69, of Nashua.

Larry went out treasure hunting with his grandson Messiah, age seven, and was inspired to write:
We went out in the rainy weather,
for we knew that we could find your treasure.
We followed the Rail Trail for a couple of miles.
My grandson this day, was all smiles.
We stopped at (this line DELETED because it would give away location!).
My grandson was off his bike and wasn't moving slow.
He entered the tunnel and found the bin,
My greatest treasure was seeing his grin.
The treasure hunt is on local rail trails, and the clue, folks may recall, is "look south of the brook, where the cattle be lowing." See earlier posts for more information.
Check out the video in an earlier post on the contest, and an alternate edit, by Don Himsel:
