Trail Treasure Contest
Filed under Uncategorized by andrew wolfe at 4:43 pm
The first Trail Treasure hunters have been quick to share news of their find (see earlier posts if you don't know about this contest), along with reminiscences about the area.
If anyone tried to e-mail, and it bounced back, please try again. I neglected to clean out my 'sent' folder before this contest started, so my inbox filled up far too fast!
Congratulations to Emily, Mike and Tommy Pattison of Nashua for being the first folks to find the Treasure Chest (or at least the fastest to write about it); they and everyone else who finds it and e-mails back will be entered into the drawing for the $50 EMS gift card.
Rachel di Antonio was kind enough to share rememberances of family outings to the stone bridge for picnics and swimming: My family and cousins, uncles, aunts all swam at the "culvert" in the l950's…..we lived on ridge road and we spent many summer Sundays picnicing and swiming with the families…..one side was so shallow, but sandy, so the younger kids could play, while the adults and older children swam and swung from a large rope… the memories are many… the water was clear, clean, and cold… there were many pine trees about so we parked under the trees… had our blankets out, and enjoyed a Sunday afternoon… my parents owned the farm at the corner of Ridge and Buckmeadow Road….my sisters and I own the farm now… It was just as beautiful back then.
