I'm kind of lazy. I could have gotten up earlier this morning, and headed up north to hike, but I didn't feel like driving that far. So, I set out for Monadnock again, having planned a nice long and largely new-to-me route.

I went to see an old friend today, in the town where my maternal grandparents lived. You could see Monadnock across the Lake Contoocook from their house, and I've been climbing it since I was a wee boy.

Just before the latest round of snow, I went out snowshoeing on the Wapack Trail, visiting a section I hadn’t done in many years – between Temple Road in Sharon and the Temple Mountain.
