Andrew | 03 March, 2008 08:36 | (161)

I saw news on Friday of a study on bacteria in snow, but didn't get around to checking it out until this morning. It's a matter of some concern to any outdoor athlete.

Mount McIntyre

Andrew | 29 January, 2008 18:52 | (250)

I've always had a thing for the smaller ski areas... they seem a little more laid-back, I guess, and I'm not so good that I need a great big hill to have fun.

Run like a (snowshoe) rabbit

Andrew | 19 January, 2008 18:09 | (262)

Some runners head for the treadmill come winter. Some take time off. Others slog through the slush-coated streets, or take their chances on the trails. And some strap on snowshoes and race.

Bigfeet on the Wapack

Andrew | 01 January, 2008 18:17 | (186)

I can’t remember a year when we’ve had this much snow before Christmas. My memory isn’t so great, so that doesn’t mean much, but it’s been a while.

rain falling on cedars

Andrew | 03 March, 2007 16:13 | (200)

A cold, hard rain was falling over three inches of fresh snow Friday. The roads were a mess. I had the day off. Naturally, I had to get out and play. What else am I going to do, stay inside and clean?

Running with dogs

Andrew | 28 January, 2007 20:35 | (266)

Clover, née Peanut, joined my family back around 1996. She’s always been a family dog, but the two of us bonded by exploring the outdoors together. I used to bring her mountain biking.
