Armchair AT hiking

Andrew | 28 March, 2008 17:17 | (105)

Ah, spring, and an old man's thoughts turn... well, let's not go there.

It's actually too late to be thinking about planning a through hike of the AT this spring, but you can get a taste of what you'd be getting into this Thursday (April 3), as Carl Olsen of Milford, a section (serial) hiker himself, is giving a talk on the subject at 7 p.m. at the Nashua Public Library (which, BTW, rocks; check 'em out if you haven't done so of late). The flier promises "tips, inspiration and a bit of history" as well as "photos, demonstrations of handmade equipment and a taste of homemade dehydrated trail food." Sounds mouth watering to me!

UPDATE: Carl's talk was well-attended, and informative. If you missed it, a video of the presentation has been running every so often on Nashua's cable channel 99.

Share and enjoy.
