In case anyone missed it, my colleague Karen Lovett wrote up a nice article on the area's newest official conservation and recreation area, Merrimack's Horse Hill Nature Preserve.
The area's trails have long been used (and occasionally misused), but now there's even a parking area, making it easier for folks from out of town to check it out. I plan to visit with my bicycle soon.
Andrew, just discovered your excellent blog. Horse Hill is a great biking and hiking area. I've been exploring a number of biking areas near here, and I've been keeping track of them using Google Maps. Thanks Ed, I've added your map to my list of area trail maps. Very cool. I can confirm that Fessenden Hill Road is promising; there's a lot of trail back there along the state lines. I once found a PDF of a hand-drawn map of TSF online, but misplaced it... I used to ride in Merrimack often, before the Grater Road area got so scratched up by logging and quads.
